(Enjoying her bath on Jan. 30)
I'm pretty excited about this whole new Grace Watch thing. Gracie's always doing cute things, but I forget to write them down and then am mad at myself later. Anyway, hopefully this will help me keep up with that. Plus, it's a way to be better about blogging, 'cause now I have a subject in mind. :) So, without further adieu...
New Word of the Week: Gracie's always saying new things (although they're not usually intelligible to other people). She loves to go outside, so she says "Yow-yih" quite a bit these days. She's also been really into Baby Einstein as of late, so she asks for it all day long! She says, "Ni-nine? Ni-nine? Ni-nine?....Peese?" (and she does sign language for "please"). It's killer! I thought I had a hard time limiting her TV time before she could ask for it herself. It's nearly impossible now! Wish me luck!
New Food of the Week (and Grace's reaction): She's tried most things now. One new thing is cereal bars (y'know, like Nutragrain). I was trying to find a "healthy" granola bar, without too much junk in it, but they all had chocolate chips or candy or whatever in them, so I went with cereal bars instead. (I know, they're still not the healthiest--but at least they have iron, which she needs more of!) Anyway, she absolutely LOVES them! She even tries to say "cereal bar," and it comes out pretty clear!
New Injury of the Week: This is a sad category, but she's at that age where there'll probably be something to write every week. This week she had an unfortunate run-in (no pun intended) with our small ottoman. Now, this ottoman is covered in microfiber fabric and is quite soft, but Gracie discovered (the hard way) that the corners are still quite sharp. Yikes! Anyway, she tripped on a toy and fell right into the corner of said piece of furniture, and got a red mark on her forehead. At first it didn't look that bad, but over the week it got looking worse, and now it has scabbed over (without ever having bled--weird!). Here's a picture:
(Look at that precious "Good morning" face--she's such a happy girl!)
Adventure of the Week: (I'm not sure how adventurous this was, but it was fun anyway!) I've been trying to get more exercise, so Gracie and I have been going on walks a lot lately. We've loved it so much that we decided we should invite Daddy along on Saturday, so that's what we did: we took a family walk. It was a really wet, rainy day, but we went when it was just lightly sprinkling and it was nice to be together outside. We walked to Jack in the Box (the finest of restaurants), ate dinner, and then walked back. Luckily it didn't start raining harder or anything, and we were only a little wet when we got home. Since it was pretty cold out, we got to bundle up Gracie in this hat and gloves that my sister gave her last Christmas, and she looked adorable! (Don't you agree?)
She loved clapping the "paws" together. (below)
I could go on and on, but I better stop for now. Look for more Grace-isms next week!
