New Words of the Week: Wow, lots to report in this section! Her new words are "berry" (berry), "shredded wheat" (wed-weet - she loves Frosted Mini-Wheats), "Tigger" (tidder), "pie" (pie), "donut" (nonut), "egg" (aid), and "hand" (hannn).
I'm not sure why she has started saying Tigger; she has a Winnie the Pooh telephone that has a button with Tigger on it, and one day she pointed to it and said, "Tidder!" (Winnie the Pooh says who he's calling when you push a button, but she had never seemed to understand that before--guess she does now!)
We had donuts with our Easter breakfast at Dave's parents' house, pie as dessert for Easter dinner, and she thoroughly enjoyed finding eggs during the Easter egg hunt.
When she walks outside, she likes to walk up hills and over uneven terrain, but sometimes she can tell it's too "rugged" for her. She's learned that if someone holds her hand, it makes it much easier, so now she'll hold out her hand and say, "Hannn!" so we hold her hand to help her. We love it!

New Food of the Week (and Grace's reaction): Oh boy! She's tried LOTS of new foods this week. The first was Jelly Bellies, because they were giving out samples at Costco (I love that place!). She ate them all, saying and signing "more" the whole time through a very full and chewy mouth. :) She also had donuts (loved them), sausage (also at Easter breakfast--she was not a huge fan of it), and pie (again, not a big hit, but I think by that point she was ready to get out of her high chair and explore). She's also had a variety of different Easter candies, and she has thoroughly enjoyed them all. She's not picky--as long as it has sugar, she'll eat it!

New Injury of the Week: Last night after dinner, we were playing in Mimi & Grandpa's backyard. (Mimi & Grandpa are some of Gracie's great-grandparents. Fun fact: Gracie has TEN living grandparents! Four grandparents, 5 great-grandparents, and a great-great-grandma! And no cousins on the King side to share the attention with--talk about SPOILED!!!) Anyway, she was playing with a little bouncing ball, and one time when she bent over to pick it up, she lost her balance and fell right on the top of her forehead. The people inside heard the thud! It was so sad! It took her a few minutes to calm down, but then she was ok. Poor thing!
Thanks for all the Easter treats, Nana...
...and Papi!
New Skills: She has a cookie jar toy that has shapes that fit into it through the sides, and she can now put the circle in all by herself. Next up: heart, triangle, square, and star!
She also has taken up the sport of Easter egg hunting, and has quite a knack for it. She especially likes when she's able to get the eggs open and eat all the candy without Mommy finding out. ;) (Here's a picture of her doing just that.)
She discovered--and quickly devoured--several jelly beans in this egg.
Other: We had a really fun time at our Tuesday play date last week. Gracie took her soccer ball to play with, and it was a hit with the other kids. :) We stayed at the park until most of the other people had left, and Gracie got to have some one-on-one time with a little friend named Isaac. They were SOOO cute together. You wouldn't know it from looking, but she's actually twice his age! :) He followed her around, they played with the soccer ball, and they even "hugged." Here are some pictures:
Here's one of their "hugs"
Another fun thing about Easter (for me, at least) was dressing Gracie up. We found her adorable Easter dress at Kohl's and cute white sandals at Target, and I had fun doing her hair in pigtails. I've never really been a "girly girl," but I have to admit that I'm loving having a real live doll to dress up every day. :)
One of my very favorite Easter pictures--thanks, Aunt Kristine!
"Ahhh, a successful day indeed!"
